How does it actually work — sprints or subscription?

Both, and you start with a sprint. A sprint is a fixed-scope, fixed-price project with a defined deliverable — an ad set, a product explainer, a landing page, a brand system. You know the price and the outcome before we start. If you find you need design regularly rather than once, you can roll into a subscription and keep me on tap. One sprint or a long-term partner — your call, and you don't have to decide up front. It also means the sprint doubles as a low-risk way to get a feel for how I think and work before you commit to anything ongoing — most people would rather test the fit on one real project than sign up on faith.

When should I do a sprint vs. a subscription?

Sprint when you have a specific thing to ship — a launch, a raise, a campaign — with a clear finish line. Subscription when design has become a steady drumbeat and you'd rather not scope every task from scratch. Startup reality is that you never know when ideas and tasks will land — it's a constant trickle of little tweaks, iterations, and one-offs that are stressful to handle alone but nowhere near enough to keep a full-time designer busy. That gap is exactly what a subscription is for. Most founders start with a sprint to get the urgent thing done, then subscribe once they realize the next ten things are coming too.

What does pricing look like — any surprise invoices?

No surprises either way. A sprint is quoted as a single fixed number tied to a defined scope, agreed before any work starts — no hourly meter, and if the scope genuinely changes mid-way we agree the new number together before I carry on. A subscription is a flat monthly rate: you pay the same predictable amount each month regardless of how much you throw at the queue. Whichever mode you're in, you know exactly what you're paying before you commit.

Whatever ships the best result fastest. That's Figma and the Adobe suite for craft, plus an AI-native production stack (generative image, motion, and voice tools) that lets a one-person studio deliver at a pace that used to need a team. I pick the most efficient tool for each job — some of it manual, some of it AI, whatever gets the best result without wasting time. The point isn't the tools, it's keeping your business moving and not losing momentum.
